**THIS IS A SEASONAL "AJ" POSITION; 9 MONTHS MAXIMUM WORK ASSIGNMENT;
NOT ELIGIBLE FOR STATE BENEFITS, BUT PER DIEM & TRAVEL INCLUDED.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In UDOT Region Four - Southern Utah:
Site file & records searches - State & Federal.
Conduct class II survey & limited testing, paleontological survey of existing
highway rights of ways.
Compile site and isolated find documentation.
Prepares survey reports & documents.
Native American consultation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of North American Archeological method & theory; Utah
prehistory/history.
Skilled in artifact identification; word processing (Windows WP 6.0);
photographic documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and in written form.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Preference given to Master's degree in archaeology or anthropology, plus two
years of full-time paid professional archaeological work; or substitutions on
a
year-for-year basis as follows:full-time paid professional employment in
archaeology or closely related fields for the required education, or
additional
related graduate study for up to one year of the required employment. This
position will be filled on an equal employment opportunity basis. The
position
is based in Richfield, Utah. Travel and per diem from Richfield included.
