Quite a lot of work was done in the 1980s at South Pass City in Wyoming.
South Pass, besides its role as an important Oregon-California trail site, was
a busy gold mining camp at mid-century. Look for Office of the Wyoming State
Archeologist's reports of investigations, primarily by Julie E Francis.
