The McDowell Journals of the Commissioners of the Indian Trade were published
back in the 1950s as part of the Colonial Records of South Carolina series by
the S.C. Archives Department, which is now, of course, the S.C. Department of
Archives and History. The last time I checked, they did indeed still have
these moldy oldies. You might want to check their web site and is if they have
a publications link --http://www.history.sc.gov.
