There is research published in the USA that points to PCP, when used to treat bee boxes, being able to leave a residue in honey. I had used pentachlorophenol (PCP) over 20 years ago but stopped when I read the research and also the PCP would not allow the paint to stick properly to the outside of the box. I was using both enamel and oil based paints.
