Returning quickly to Carl's point and mine...."Mullein" is a typically
colonial generic term for a number of native plants as well as for the
aliens brought by the colonials (e.g. "henbit" aka "creeping charlie").

BTW, Allen, was your paper from the '98 SHA finally published? If not, I'd
sure like to follow up on some of your references, particularly the
Pharmacopeia from the early 20th century. I enjoyed discussing it with you
very much (but that's a bit personal for the list).
