OK, so now its my turn to join the club of misfits who don't pay attention...
Oh, and while I'm here, for those of you that were so kind as to respond to
my little survey a few months ago (why you left the field of archaeology) I
have a little update on my own situation. The private sector / non
culturally contributing fields are not any better. A few days before that
nifty job was to start I was informed that the guy I was to work with
brought in "his own people" and I was never hired. Now I'm really upset
that I turned down that job with the Preservation Alliance. I've been back
to bouncing around doing temp jobs including two months as the Interim
Membership Coordinator for the Virginia Association of Museums. What that
has to do with all my edumication I do not know, but it is another notch on
the resume to confuse people.

Since the Virginia powers that be have decided to slash all state funding
that means there is little hope again of doing much more than stocking
shelves at the local Office Max or Home Depot, unless anyone knows of some
archaeological projects in the Richmond, VA area that I have not yet
inquired into.
