Far more useful for dates and variability in hawk bells than Tunica
Treasure is Claudine Weatherford, 1980, Trade Bells of the
Southern Plateau: Their Use and Occurrence through Time.
Northwest Anthropological Research Notes, Vol.14, No. 1, pp. 20-
84. It is a condensed version of her MA thesis at Washington
State University. The typological portion is based on David M.
Pendergast, 1962, Metal Artifacts in Mesoamerica. American
Antiquity, Vol. 27, No. 4, pp. 520-545. Weatherford's references
cited has just about everything published on hawk bells up to that
time.
