        Although for practical reasons I understand why the proposed public
book would emphasize North America, I hope the book will make it clear
that Historical Archaeology is a global, world-wide discipline with recent
(i.e. modern - post AD 1400) sites being worked on in Europe, Africa, Asia,
Latin America and Oceania. We should not be artifically limiting our
discipline, especailly in a basic, introductory booklet.
