Hmmm. I haven't heard about that one, which is surprizing since SF is just
down the road from here.  
But for what it's worth (about 50 cents to a recycler) about 10 years ago 
we excavated the refuse
of a junk dealer who seems to have specialized in bottles, and got a good 
haul o' artifacts (plus some interesting insights
into the eating habits of a mid/late 19th-century Reform Jew). We have a
few copies of the report kicking  
about so if anyone's  interested by all means contact me off-list.
 
And to everyone who couldn't afford the WAC in Cape Town... see you in
exotic Salt Lake City!
