I agree with Lenny Piotrowski.  Something should be done about this.  The 
original spam (which I got twice) is bad enough; so far one person has
replied to the HISTARCH list asking to be removed, and TWO people have
replied to the reply.
 
Anyone else out there...if it's not too late, do not reply to the spammer.  
First, your message just goes out to all of us on HISTARCH, wasting the
time of people who have your best interests at heart.  Second, even if you
do get your "remove" message through to the original spammer, that just
means that they will then be able to sell and trade your personal e-mail
address to other spammers, making your problem worse.  Let the listowner
deal with it.
