Since I don't know what kind of material culture you are dealing with, it
is hard to say what might be a good source.  Instead, here are some
sources of the secondary literature that may lead you to primary works:
 
Ken Ames
     1989     Decorative Arts and Household Furnishings in America
                1650-1920, A Bibliography (1989).
 
Jessica Foy and Karal Ann Marling, eds.
     1994     The Arts and the American Home, 1890-1930
 
These two are only ones that I have on hand, but I would be interested in
whatever twentieth century materials you find to be very useful!
