I am in the beginning phases of research for a novel that involves the
practice of archeology in the years between WW I & II. I would be grateful
for any information or resources to find regarding the following:

Major schools of archeology in Europe
How archeology (especially biblical) was conducted during that time.
Major figures and influences in the 30's and before
Processes involved in digs in Israel and environs

I am not a professional in the field, just someone with a (hopefully)
interesting idea for a story.

Any advice on more appropriate newsgroups would also be welcome.

Thanks in advance.
