To Arch-l and Histarch readers:
We recovered several bones of an approximately 6-month old fetus from a
privy pit here in Minneapolis that was behind a saloon in the late 19th
C.
I am looking for comparitive information on the recovery of human
remains from well/privy contexts. I am aware of the two infant/fetal
remains recovered from 18th C privy contexts in Philadelphia, and I have
heard that at least one set of similar remains were recovered from the
Five Points project area in NYC. Does anyone on the list know of other
examples?
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
