Hi all
Garth comments that researchers have for decades kept the Cape
honeybee (capensis) in various places in the UK. Perhaps so, but not
that I have ever heard of. Research on capensis has taken place in
Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands and I have been told that
some commercial beekeepers in Germany were trying capensis,
illegally, some years ago. But I have never heard of capensis in the
UK, especially not for research purposes.
