Here in CT USA I notice that older bees which have worn away their fuzzyness
have a greasy appearance. Especially evident in a failing hive where young
bees are not being produced. I will pay closer attention when summer returns
to bees working squash although mine is usually pollinated by a smaller wild
bee.
