Greetings to All,
I thought those interested in mining history might like to know that the
California Division of Mines and Geology has just released their first
CD-Rom entitled, California Gold Mines A Sesquicentennial Photograph
Collection, (DMG CD 98-001). This is a collection of 300 black and white
gold mining photos photos. The images look good on your monitor, but I
don't know how well they will print yet. You can import them into a photo
editing program or a text file. They have copywrited the disk but I think
most of the photos are public domain by now.
This disk runs $15.00 with no tax. (can you believe it)
The California Division of Mines and Geology may be reached at the
following address:
State of California
Dept. of Conservation
Division of Mines and Geology
801 K st.
MS 14-33
Sacramento, California 95814-3532

Have a nice summer.
Regards,
Tom
