these bottles have been found on several sites in California dating from the
1850s to about 1880.  They contained mineral water and were manufactured in
the Nassau Duchy of West Germany.  Two were found in Old Sacramento (Schulz et
al. 1980) and others have been recovered in San Francisco.  I have one from an
1860s mining site located near Sacramento.  If you contact me direct I can fax
