Thanks to all those who replied. Work in my office was suspended while we
checked out the Saints page. It seems that the catholic web pages are either
.org or .com. No doubt the .com would confirm the many suspicions of people.
Why not .gov?
Anyway the conclusion is that St Damasus is real as is the hitherto
unsuspected St Jerome also claiming to be the Patron Saint of Archaeology.
Can archaeology have two patron sites (maybe one for Prehistoric and one for
Historical?). Which is the more appropriate?
Does the SHA (or for that matter ASHA) have an official view on which is the
patron saint of archaeology?
