I thought I would remind everyone, before things get too ugly, that it is hard
enough to justify the importance of archaeology to the American people and the
people elected to run it, without fighting with ourselves.  It makes us look bad
 
to those who could care less whether our field exists and anyone who might
support us for that matter.
