Dear Jim,
here's a monkey wrench for you. Recently, I had occasion to be at
a cemetery in Santa Barbara, CA. All of the footstones were flush
with the ground level. Some were marked with initials or 'MOM' or
'DAD', others were unmarked. All that I saw were associated with
adults. If one were standing before a marked footstone (at this
cemetery), reading the initials left to right, the burial would be
above the initials.
Question; what would you do if you came across an unmarked
footstone, that was flush with ground level, which had no
corresponding headstone?
