The Health Promotions Programs at the University of Oklahoma (Norman) is
seeking two graduate students to conduct ethnographic data for a
grant-funded project concerning American Indian Fatherhood. The
project's goal is to gain a better understanding of the American Indian
father's role in the care, nurture, health, growth, and development of
children. The work will take place in two Indian communities, one
historically matrilineal (Chickasaw) and the other historically
patrilineal (Kiowa, Apache, and Comanche).
The graduate students' work begins in January (yes, it is short notice)
and continues for 8 months. Monthly stipend is $1000.
For more information about the nature of the project, see the Health
Promotions Programs' website at http://hpp.ou.edu
