I know that Chris Amer at the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and
Anthropology excavated Pritchard's Shipyard, near Charleston, three or four
years ago. This site dates to the same time period (1st half 18th c.) and
would be directly applicable. Unfortunately he hasn't published anything on
it...though labbwork is said to be in progress. You might contact Chris
