Just wanted to remind people about this conference. I know a
number of people will be making presentations on historical
cemetery sites.

The Fourth Annual Meeting of the Midwest Bioarcheology &
Forensic Anthropology Association will convene on the campus
of Loyola University Chicago on the weekend of October 4, 1997.
The meeting format will consist of informal and formal papers, as
well as open discussions and posters. We are soliciting all
creative ideas for the meeting -- with the intent of varying the
ways in which information is presented and discussed. There will
be a welcoming reception dinner on Friday evening the 3rd from
7:00 to 10:00. Presentations will be given on Saturday with
breakfast and lunch being served. Sunday morning we will host a
continental breakfast/business meeting/hands-on opportunity in
the Anthropology Research and Teaching Labs. The goal of the
conference is to provide an informal forum for osteologists,
forensic anthropologists, and bioarcheologists to present current
research, methodological advances and specimens of particular
interest. Students are strongly encouraged to participate.

Deadline for Presentation Abstracts: August 1, 1997

Registration Fee: $35 before September 1, 1997, $40 after that date.
The registration fee includes a welcoming dinner reception on
Friday evening, a continental breakfast on Saturday morning, a
full lunch on Saturday, and a continental breakfast Sunday
morning.
