I am part of a group at my college that is examining models of collaborative
shared governance. We are looking at models which when implemented allow
decisions to be made and communicated effectively, efficiently, with mutual
respect, with open dialogue, and with sensitivity to both internal and
external environments. We are trying to find out what has already been done
in this area.

We are very interested in learning about schools that have or had such
governance systems. How did it work? Was it successful? Did you stay with
it or not? Are you aware of models similar to this that have already been
developed and are explained in articles or books? If so, please send me the
citation. What are your ideas about such a collaborative shared governance
model?

If you send email, please put "governance" in "Subject" header.

Thanks for your help. If you want a copy of what we come up with, please let
me know and I will send you a copy of our material.
