It sounds like everyone has this thread covered.  Anyway, back to the original
question I found a brief discussion about chamber pots in the 18th century in
Paul Shackel's Personal Discipline and Material Culture 1996, University of
Tennessee Press.  It is more concerned with the increased use of chamber pots
during this time period.
