From my vantage well inside the American historical archaeology
establishment, I hereby continue the commentary of William Moss to
nominate the historical archaeology community of CANADA (or the
union/relationship of CANADA-QUEBEC) as the official
mediating/communicating body between North American (i.e. American/U.S.)
dominated/influenced historical archaeology and the rest of the world.
To this end I highly endorse the SHA 2000 meeting in Quebec City. Vive
le Parcs Canada! (or what is left of it).
