POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:  TENURE TRACK ANTHROPOLOGY FACULTY POSITION #11166
 
THE COLLEGE:  Serving more than 34,000 students, College of DuPage is
America's largest single-campus community college.  Based in the west
suburban Glen Ellyn (Illinois, USA) campus and featuring 90 neighborhood
learning sites, COD's "life-long learning" curriculum comprises 88 diverse

POSITION:  Full-time, tenure track position in the Liberal Arts Division to
teach anthropology courses which include courses in cultural anthropology
(Cultural Anthropology 100, Cross-Cultural Relations 105, Peoples and
Cultures of the World 130, Introduction to Field Methods and Research Design
200), archaeology (General Archaeology 120, Field Archaeology 140,
Introduction to Laboratory Methods in Archaeology 145, Historical Archaeology
190), phsical anthropology (Physical Anthropology 125), and/or applied
anthropology (Selected Topics in Anthropology 190, Selected Topics II, 290).
Other duties may include advising students, curriculum development, and
committee work.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree in anthropology with knowledge of the four
fields of anthropology and previous teaching experience preferably at the
community college level or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.  Background in applied and/or physical anthropology is a plus.
Teaching experience using computer applications is highly desired.
 
STARTING DATE AND ASSIGNMENT:  September 14, 1998.  Starting salaries
normally range from $31,000 to $45,000, but are dependent on education and
experience.  This is a three quarter,a cademic year appointment with
opportunities to earn significant additional income through overload and
summer remuneration.  College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
