Tom Barrett asks the best way of killing off a hive. Tom, the cleanest way to
commit insecticide is by spraying the bees on the comb with dilute liquid
detergent, probably at a similar strength as your wife would use to do the
washing up. The detergent washes the wax coating from the bees and they die
from dehydration. That's the theory. I tried it once and it worked.
