Try Bill Adams' Silcott Ethnoarchaeology studies--2 vol. + microfilm.
Washington State University Reports of Investigations No. 54, June 1977.
Some of his Waverly Plantation work is also 20th c.--tenant farmer stuff.
He was extremely thorough in his identifications and provides lots of
illustrations as well.
