First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Laura Warren,
and I am an LLL Leader in Columbia, MO. (and an IBCLC wannabe!) I have
very much enjoyed learning from the wisdom being shared here!
A mother that I am counseling has been prescribed Redux by her dr. (to lose
weight) and she has been told to wean her 11 mo. old daughter for the 3
weeks she is taking the med. This mother has overcome tremendous odds to
nurse her daughter (husband left when baby was very young, baby went into
full-time day care at 5 weeks, etc.) and hates the though of temporary
weaning. Baby is obviously wanting to nurse, and mom is having a hard time
distracting and calming her. Baby has been supplemented with formula while
mom is at work, but since starting solids 5 mo. ago she is not getting the
supplemental formula.
I haven't found information on Redux in my resources. Any help would be
greatly appreciated!!
