Dear Jan and all,
Thanks for reminding me of some other Christian Parenting authors. How
could I forget Dr. Dobson? I also remember reading one of Ross
Campbell's books and especially remember one suggestion which I've used
periodically. When a child was having a "hard time" with his attitude
or behavior, and based on my "take" of the situation and as I deemed
appropriate, I just gathered him (I have all boys) in my arms, held him,
and told him I loved him. So, even though I forgot to mention two more
with whom I was familiar in the recent post, I do remember some advice I
found practical from both, even though I have not gone into what I
remember from Dr. Dobson... which is plenty since I read several of his
books and listened to many, many "Focus on the Family" programs.
Thanks to all who have sent personal responses to the very long and
not-so-easy-to-write post. Your encouragement was greatly appreciated.
