The Society for Archaeological Sciences (www.wisc.edu/larch/sas/sas.htm) is
offering a prize for the best student archaeometric poster presented at the
1999 Society for American Archaeology meeting in Chicago. The student should
be the first author and a presenter of the poster. In addition, we ask that a
2-4 page (about 750-1500 words, 2-3 figures) extended abstract be submitted to
SAS before the meeting. Criteria for the award are: significance of the
archaeological problem; appropriateness of the archaeometric methods used;
soundness of conclusions; quality of the poster display; oral presentation of
the poster. The prize is a one-year membership in the SAS, including the
quarterly Bulletin and the monthly Journal of Archaeological Science.
Submission of the extended abstract should indicate the student author, a
correspondence address, and the session in which the poster will be presented.
