If by Grand Portage you mean the one in Northern Minnesota, some of the
underwater work at either end of the portage itself is described in "Voices
from the Rapids" by Robert C. Wheeler et al.  Minnesota Historical
Archaeology Series 3 (1975).  Don't know if there is a report on the Grand
Portage post itself.
