The Corporation for Jefferson's Poplar Forest  has an opening for an
Archaeological Field Supervisor to oversee fieldwork in the Deparment of
Archaeology.  The Field Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision
of fieldwork, the maintenance of all field records, report preparation and
on-site, public interpretation.  Additionally, the Field Supervisor assists
in the preparation and teaching of a five week  field school and a one-week
teachers' seminar, oversees seasonal staff, and works with interns and
volunteers.
 
Qualifications:  Strong organizational skills, expertise in field work and
analysis, survey, mapping, field photography and videography, strong
computer skills, familiarity with late 18th-century and 19th-century
American  material culture.  BA required, MA preferred in anthropology,
history, American Studies or related discipline.  Minimum of five years
experience in historical archaeology, with two years experience supervising
fieldwork.   
 
Salary and benefits are competitive.
