There's a pretty high risk of comb collapse with this method and that
can be _very_ messy!
FWIW, I cut the comb from the frames leaving just enough at the top
to start the bees off rebuilding, then I put all the comb in food
grade buckets in my warming cabinet set to about 50C. Everything
collapses under control and I can skim the top and filter as I want.

I'm not too happy with that approach. It can be a very efficient way to
spread diseases.
