Is anyone aware of any published data on the costs to provide lactation
consultants' services in the hospital setting?? You can imagine that I'm
being asked to contribute this information for a business plan at our
hospital. In addition to salary/wages; we also need to look at supply costs.
If there is no published data, I'd be most grateful if anyone would send me
the following information about their personal program:
1. births/year at your hospital
2. do you have a certificate of intent to BFHI?
3. how many hours/week are LC services available
4. inpt/outpt services available?
5. average salary/hour for your LCs
6. average supply cost/unit of service
Let me know if you'd like to know the same about our program.
