I have only seen it once. After catching a feral swarm into a nuc, the
colony did fine for a couple months until it was time to transfer to a
full size brooder. During the transfer, a marked queen went running into
the new box followed by an unmarked queen. Eventually the unmarked queen
killed the marked queen.
It appears that the hive had two queens coexisting until the point
that the colony was transfered.
