Dear Alicia,
In your post you state that this mom has tried several different positions.
One thing that has been successful for some of the moms that I have worked with
is for the care giver (someone other than mom) to put the baby in a car seat
and loosely lay a night shirt of the moms (one with mommy smells on it - not
freshly washed) around the baby's head, then offer the alternative feeding
method.
