Project Archaeologist (Historic)
The Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc.(PAL), an independent, non-profit
cultural resource management and historic preservation planning firm, seeks
a Project Archaeologist/Supervisor (Historic).
The Project Archaeologist/Supervisor coordinates the technical and
logistical aspects of fieldwork, data collection, and synthesis of data
within project specific research designs and frameworks. The Project
Archeologist will ensure adherence to testing strategies, excavation, and
recording standards and overall organizational aspects on a
project-by-project basis.
Qualified individuals will possess the following:
- excellent field, mapping, and cultural material identification skills
- ability to implement research designs for historical archaeology projects
- proven track record preparing high quality historical archaeology reports
- graduate degree in Anthropology or Historical Archaeology
- two to four years of professional experience
- strong supervisory and communication skills
- computer proficiency
- ability to travel
