Dear Iain,

There are a great number of archaeology data standards that have
been developed in the United Kingdom. You can find a list with
links to many of these on the Archaeology Data Service website
at:

http://ads.ahds.ac.uk/project/userinfo/standards.html

You might also find the staff at the Data Standards
Unit in the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of
England very helpful. They can be contacted via email at

Good luck!
