Most of the work I have done since about 1980 has been on 20th century
sites. I put quite a number of illustrations in the reports, and
reference a number of sources that provided good information. You can
get any of these reports from any library that is a federal
repository. I've used every source mentioned in other replies. Don't
forget the Montgomery Wards catalogues, along with the Sears, Roebuck
catalogues. They all make good browsing material.
Also, Richard Fike's book on bottles has quite a bit of 20th century
material in it, if I remember right.
Be sure and check out my dissertation, listed below as Blee 1991. I
reference about 50 reports available as grey literature that discuss,
describe and picture 20th century material culture.
Good luck!
