JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
ARCHAEOLOGY FIELD ASSISTANT
ENVIRONMENTAL/CULTURAL RESOURCES SECTION
MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MoDOT)
A full-time, permanent position has become open with the Missouri Department of
Transportation's Environmental/Cultural Resources Section. The position
requires at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and
archaeological field experience. Duties include conducting background research
for archaeological studies, conducting Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III
archaeological investigations, preparation and analysis of artifacts, and
preparation of reports related to proposed transportation projects, as governed
by federal and state legislation and regulations.
The Cultural Resources section of MoDOT is based in Jefferson City, the state's
capital. Frequent travel within the state of Missouri from Jefferson City is
required. Salaries are competitive. MoDOT offers a generous insurance and
benefits package to permanent, full-time employees.
