Hello and apologies to all who have seen this before;
I will be starting my Master's in Anthropology in the Fall at the
University of Tennessee. My area of interest is historical archaeology.
I've been put on a site in the Big South Fork National River and
Recreation Area in north central Tennessee that was apparently a small
salt mine and associated community(probable thesis topic!). Tom DesJean,
archaeologist for the BSF
has looked at it and Dr. Guy Prentice actually tested it recently. What I
would like is for anyone who has experience with a similar site or knows
of some good sources on this type of site to get in touch with me. I plan
to spend this summer gathering sources to get a good idea of what to look
for when I go to the field next summer. If anyone out there can help, I
will really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
