I regret to inform everyone of the sudden passing away of Ian Kenyon in
Hamilton, Ontario in mid-February. Ian Kenyon was probably one of the most
respected archaeologists in Ontario in recent years. His research in
historic archaeology , and ceramics in Ontario and more recently, glass bead
research was extremely important and his presence will be missed by a great
many of us. He was also a well-published author in the field of prehistoric
archaeology of Ontario. I had the experience of working for and with Ian for
the past five and a half years and will miss his expertise, advice and
friendship. There will be a Remembrance gathering in Toronto on Tuesday,
March 18, 1997 at 10 Adelaide St. E. If anyone would be interested in
emailing a remembrance/memory of Ian, please email me offlist and I will
ensure that it is read at this event.
