Scott,

I am doing some research on the iron industry in Connecticut. In looking
through account books of local firms, we have seen references to cast
iron pots and kettles. I have no details to hand - pots were not our
first priority - but there may be information there which would be of
use to you.

There was also a considerable iron industry in the Adirondacks, although
I think more bloomeries than blast furnaces in the eighteenth century,
so not such a likely source for cast iron as Connecticut.
