1997 Archaeological Fieldwork Opportunities Bulletin Available Now
 
The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) is pleased to announce the
publication of the 1997 edition of the Archaeological Fieldwork
Opportunities Bulletin (AFOB), a comprehensive guide to excavations, field
schools, and special programs with openings for volunteers, students, and
staff throughout the world. It is available every year on January 1 and may
be back-ordered now.
 
The 1997 AFOB is the biggest edition ever with over 300 opportunities
listed. The listings are divided into major geographical regions, including
the United States, Canada, Latin America, Continental Europe, United
Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, the Eastern Mediterranean and Near
East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Africa, Asia, and Australia
and the Pacific. Each entry includes essential information about the site,
age requirements, application deadlines, costs, and a person to contact for
more information. The AFOB also includes a selected bibliography and lists
of related organizations and state archaeologists and historic preservation
officers.
 
Ordering information:
 
The price is $9.00 for AIA members and $11.00 for non-members. Please add
$4.00 for shipping and handling for the first copy and 50=A2 for each
additional copy. All orders must be prepaid and made in U.S. dollars or by
an international money order.
