Dear Tim
There are a couple of books you can begin with: James Deetz (1977) In
Small Things Forgotten.
Anchor Books (Doubleday) New York and Charles E. Orser, Jr. & Brian M. Fagan
(1995) Historical Archaeology. HaperCollins, New York are fairly good. Also
browsing through the American journal Historical Archaeology and
Australasian Historical Archaeology will given you a reasonable good
understanding of the wide variety of topics dealt with by historical
archaeology today.
