Yeh, Mike. I have seen privies on Sanborn maps in the past. The
insurance maps we have of Skagway did not show the privies, despite
the abundant photographic (and archeological) evidence of them.

Cathy Spude has commented on her use of photographic evidence to locate
privies in Skagway. I don't have one immediately at hand, but don't some
of the Sanborn fire insurance maps shop the location of privies? I believe
late 19th century editions of the maps for Tucson were used to locate
privies during the Tucson Urban Renewal project in the late '60s-early '70s.
