     Stan first published his mean ceramic date model in one of the
     publications on the Historic Sites Conferences sponsered by the
     University of South Carolina. I believe it was in the 1967
     publication. I don't have my copy of South 1977 here at the office,
     but I'll bet he references it in his bibliography.

Does any one know if South's info on Mean Ceramic Dating and Artifact
Patterning has been published in a more concise form than what appears
in Method and Theory in Historical Archaeology (1977)?  I wish to
introduce these concepts to my students without having them read the
entire volume.   I would appreciate suggestions.
