O que temos relatado aqui na America do Sul a respeito de abelhas gigantes
talves possa ser identificado com algumas meliponas , abelhas silvestres, ou
indigenas. Algumas, particularmente as mamagabas, tem um tamanho realmente
avantajado se comparado com a apis melifera, aproximadamente 4cm.
